希望的信息A Message of Hope
我正在意大利佛罗伦萨的房间里写本周的文章,此时我正在参加CERSAIE 2019陶瓷博览会。展会的第一天,我有幸参加了在FICO Eataly的一个活动,一些中国顶级陶瓷品牌的老板和其他相关行业,比如卫生洁具和与我们行业相关的机械设备行业,的老板一起出席。
本次活动由中陶展2020的组委会和团队组织,有200多人出席。我应邀有机会发表五分钟的演讲。我很幸运能成为最后一个演讲的人,因为我不想重复与第一个演讲的人类似的话。
中国陶瓷行业的形势正处于非常脆弱的时期,所以,其他演讲者谈到了创新、趋势、环境和其他类似的话题,我必须说一些不同的东西,在轮到我演讲前的几分钟我必须想想我要讲的内容。当我清晰地听到并了解其他行业老板的观点后,我的演讲时间准备开始,因为我是唯一一个陶瓷品牌的外籍老板,我不得不提出不同的观点。这是我发言的大概内容:
我在这个行业超过33年了,在墨西哥,我经历过经济衰退、货币贬值和极其艰难的经济时期;在美国,我经历了2008年的经济衰退。
我想我已经全看到过!在这一些时间里,我们的公司几乎破产和倒闭,尽管如此,我们东山再起,并成为了世界十大陶瓷品牌之一。
我在2006年来到中国,因为我相信这个国家的潜力。我是对的,因为我们建立了非常成功的业务。中国为我们提供了平台和曝光度,让我们的公司得到全球性的宣传。
中国拥有世界上最好的展厅,并正在成为世界其他地区的参考,而像中陶展这样的活动为行业提供了合适的亮相机会。
这些困难的时段不会永远持续下去。我相信中国的行业和它的人民,我绝对相信我们将度过这一极具挑战性的时代,走向更加光明的未来。
I am writing the article of this week from my room in Florence, Italy where I am staying while attending the CERSAIE 2019 Ceramic Fair. I had the opportunity to attend on the first day of the fair an event at FICO Eataly, where some of the top Chinese Ceramic Brands Bosses were present along with other bosses from related industries like the Sanitary Ware and Machinery and Equipment related to our industries.
The event was organized by the committee or group in charge of Uniceramics 2020. There were about 200+ people of the event. I was giving the opportunity to give a speech of five minutes. I was lucky to be the last one to give the speech as I didn’t want to repeat myself saying similar things than the first people that was going to talk.
The situation of the ceramic industry in China is going through a very delicate time. So, the other people that gave speeches talked about innovation, trends, environment and other topics of this nature. I had to say something different and I had to think about what I was going to talked about right at the time of the event just minutes before my time to give the speech. As I heard loud and clear about what the other industry bosses addressed my time came to give my speech. As the only foreigner boss of a ceramic brand that I am, I had to give in my opinion a different point of view. This is a summary of what I said:
I’ve been in this industry for over 33 years while in Mexico I have experienced recessions, devaluations and extremely difficult economic times. While in USA the recession of 2008.
I think I have seen it all! During some of this time our company almost went bankrupt and out of business, nevertheless we bounced back and became one of the top 10 ceramic brands in the world.
I moved to China in 2006 because I believed in the potential of this country. And I was right as we created a very successful business. China gave us a platform and exposure to give our company a global exposure.
China has the best showrooms in the world and is becoming a reference to the rest of the planet and the events like Uniceramics give the right exposure to the industry.
These difficult times do not last forever. I believe in the Chinese industry and its people and I am absolutely certain that we will survive these extremely challenging times and move to a much brighter future.
